Listen for structure before planning shots. Mark the intro, verses, hooks, breaks and ending. Notice where energy rises or falls and which sections repeat. Those changes create natural places to vary shot scale, movement and visual intensity.
The brief should also answer what the artist wants viewers to feel and remember. A tourism song, a performance piece and a personal narrative need different visual logic even if all three use cinematic footage.
